Compostables make up 34% of the materials that go into landfills. Learn the why, what and how of home composting. Attend a free workshop and start diverting kitchen scraps and yard waste while producing a nutrient rich soil amendment. Composting is nature’s way to recycle.

Recycling 101 Workshop

Location: Parkade Center, room # 136

Learn the why, what, how and the importance of recycling properly in this engaging workshop.

The United States Makes up only 5% of the world’s population yet produces 50% of the world’s trash. We are a society of conveniences, but the conveniences we all enjoy come with a toll on the earth. Waste reduction and recycling are two effective actions an individual can take to reduce their carbon footprint.

Compost Operations and Recycling Tour.

 International Compost Awareness Week is May 5-11.  The City is offering a tour of it’s commercial composting facility and Materials Recovery Facility.
