    WORKING TOGETHER TO IMPROVE STORMWATER

    A partnership of Boone County, City of Columbia and the University of Missouri Boone County, City of Columbia and the University of Missouri coordinate stormwater activities. The three institutions are joint holders of a Phase II Stormwater Permit issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).

    Urban Stormwater Retrofit And BMP Validation Hinkson Creek Urban Retrofit Project

    The goal of the project is to reduce flooding, improve water quality and health of the aquatic life of Hinkson Creek by implementing monitoring and retrofit activities identified in the Hinkson Creek Watershed Management Plan.

    Hinkson Creek Watershed Restoration Project

    The main focus of this grant project is to cost-share with property owners to retrofit stormwater treatment structures in hopes of improving the water quality of Hinkson Creek. The grant also sponsors educational events and programs on issues concerning streams in general.

    Collaborative Adaptive Management (CAM)

    The goal of the Collaborative Adaptive Management process is to improve water quality in Hinkson Creek by using a science based approach guided by a local stakeholder committee.
