2015-2025 quarter-cent Capital Improvement Projects

In August 2015 voters approved an extension of a 1/4 cent capital improvement sales tax which will sunset in December of 2025. In total, voters approved $99.3 million in Public Safety and Public Works projects. Some Public Works projects will be financed with a combination of 1/4-cent capital improvement sales tax monies along with county, state, and federal funds.

  • Rangeline Street – Major Maintenance (between Rogers Street and Wilkes Blvd)
  • Garth Ave – Major Maintenance
  • Walnut Street – Major Maintenance
  • Ash St at Clinkscales, Pershing, West Blvd and Garth Ave: 4-Way Stop Removal – Roundabout Corridor
  • Ballenger Ln – Ria St to Mexico Gravel Road: Widening shoulders
  • Forum Blvd – Chapel Hill to Woodrail; New bridge and widening to four lanes
  • Fairview Rd at Chapel Hill –  Intersection Improvement
  • Forum Blvd at Green Meadows Road Intersection Improvement Project: Roundabout
  • Nifong Blvd from Providence Rd to Forum Blvd: Addition of two lanes and Bethel St Intersection Improvements
  • Old Mill Creek Rd at Vawter School/Nifong Blvd Intersection Improvements
  • Sinclair Rd at Nifong Blvd Intersection Improvements
  • Vandiver Dr at Parker Ave Intersection Improvement Project: Roundabout
  • Discovery Parkway from Gans Rd to New Haven Rd: Roadway extension
