Columbia Parks and Recreation wants you to have a fun summer while enjoying park playgrounds. Did you know Columbia’s park system has 76 parks with 51 playgrounds? Each playground has various play features and many are adjacent to park shelters and loop trails. Our challenge for you is to go outside and explore your park playgrounds all summer long!

The Challenge
From May 25 to September 2 (Labor Day), 2024 visit playgrounds at 10 or more different parks, track your visits and turn in your completed tracking sheet to Columbia Parks and Recreation. All participants visiting 10 or more playgrounds will receive a free, small gift. Visit 20 parks or more for an opportunity to receive a $100 Parks and Recreation gift certificate. There is no cost to participate.

Instructions
- Print the “Visit Your Park Playgrounds Challenge” brochure (8.5″ x 11″, two pages) or pick up a copy at the Columbia Parks and Recreation Office, 1 S. 7th Street, Columbia, MO 65201
- Fill out one tracking sheet for each person. The tracking sheet is found on page two of the brochure. Fill in the date you visited each park (from May 25 to Sept. 2, 2024). Be sure to answer the question regarding your favorite play feature and sign the form.
- Use any of the following avenues to turn in your tracking form by Sept. 13, 2024, to the Columbia Parks and Recreation main office:

Free Gift and Opportunity for a Gift Certificate*
- 10 parks: One youth daily pass to the ARC*
- 20 parks: One youth daily pass to the ARC*, plus 1 entry for a $100 gift certificate
- 30 parks: One youth daily pass to the ARC*, plus 2 entries for a $100 gift certificate
- 40 parks: One youth daily pass to the ARC*, plus 5 entries for a $100 gift certificate
* If submitted in person to the main office, participants can choose either the ARC pass OR another free gift (while supplies last). If we receive your submission by mail or e-mail, we will mail the ARC youth pass. (Please note the Water Zone will be closed May 28 – September 1, 2024 to allow for renovation)
Deadlines
- Visit park playgrounds from May 25 to Sept. 2 (Labor Day), 2024
- Turn in your tracking form for each person no later than Sept. 13, 2024.
- The gift certificate will be awarded on Sept. 20, 2024.
