About 3M Wetland Trail
A gravel loop trail around the 3M Flat Branch-Hinkson Creek Wetlands gives MKT Trail users an interesting detour off the main trail. Along the trail are benches and interpretive signs with an audio component to educate visitors about wetlands, the flora and fauna common to wetland areas, and the histories of this wetland area and the MKT Trail. Visitors can use their smartphones to scan the QR codes on the signs to play the audio version of the sign information. Included in the 1.25 limestone trail mileage is a portion of the MKT Trail, which makes up the southern leg of the loop trail.
Wildlife photos
Visitors can enjoy viewing the diverse plants and wildlife as they walk around the wetlands. In fact, e-bird.org lists the 3M Wetlands as a world “hot spot” for bird sightings. Below are a sampling of wildlife photos trail users have taken in this wetland area.
