Bonnie View Trailhead

(A) Bonnie View Nature Sanctuary

This trailhead offers a variety of services for trail users venturing out on the Scott's Branch Trail.  The trailhead offers parking, restrooms (closed Oct 15 - Apr 15),  reservable shelter with picnic tables, and a drinking fountain.

Bear Creek Trail in Cosmo Park

(A) Cosmo Park Trailhead

This trailhead services the Bear Creek Trail, Rhett's Run Mountain Bike Trail and the Cosmo Nature Trail.  Parking is available at trailhead near the Columbia Skate Park within Cosmo Park. Restrooms are available at various locations in the park from April 15-October 15. (See map of Cosmo Park.) A year-round port-a-pot is available near the Skate Park parking lot.

This trailhead is located just north of the Antimi  Sports Complex and services the Bear Creek Trail, Rhett's Run Mountain Bike Trail and the Cosmo Nature Trail. Restrooms are available at various locations in the park from April 15-October 15.

(B) MKT Trail – Scott Blvd. Access

These approximately 5 acres located just southeast of the intersection of the MKT Trail and Scott Blvd. have been developed into an open field that can be used as a soccer practice area.

Bear Creek Trail at Creasy Springs Access

(C) Creasy Spring Rd. Trailhead

This trailhead is located off Creasy Springs Rd. in north Columbia. The Bear Creek Trail heads both east and west from this location.  Trail users traveling east toward Albert Oakland Park will encounter the beautiful 450-foot boardwalk just after passing under Creasy Springs Rd. Heading west from this location will take you to Cosmo Park.

This connector runs from Python Ct. to W. Prairieview Dr. where trail users can use the sidewalk along W. Prarieview Drive and Creasy Springs Road to gain access to Bear Creek

Garth Avenue Access to Bear Creek Trail

(E) Garth Ave. to Hwy. 763

The Garth Avenue parking lot and amenities serve the Bear Creek Trail and the Garth Nature Area. The trail routes safely underneath Garth Avenue, so users don't have to cross the road.

Big Bear Wayfinding

(F) Big Bear Blvd. Access

The Bear Creek Trail route runs along the sidewalk adjacent to Big Bear Blvd. until the road ends to the east. Access to the gravel trail is at the east end of Big Bear Blvd.

Bear Creek Trail access off west side of Northland Drive

(G) Northland Dr. Access

The Bear Creek Trail can be accessed off Northland Drive just south of Blue Ridge Road. Heading east from this point trail users are just 0.8 miles from Albert-Oakland Park. Cosmo Park is about 4.0 miles east of where the trail crosses Northland Drive.

(H) Blue Ridge Rd. Access

The trail access off Blue Ridge Rd., opposite Secretariat Dr., connects the surrounding neighborhood to the Bear Creek Trail. The access is signed and readily seen from the road.

(I) Alaska Ct. Access

The Alaska Ct. connector provides Bear Creek Trail access for residents of Northland Acres Estates. The walkway switches back and forth to provide an ADA grade sidewalk down the steep slope on the lot.

Bridge near Blue Ridge Road on the Bear Creek Trail

(K) Hwy. 763 to Albert-Oakland Park

The trail in this section is a 10-foot wide gravel surface with two 10-foot wide bridges over the Bear Creek. Much of this section closely parallels the creek, offering attractive views of the waterway and its limestone outcroppings.
