Park history
The City acquired this 10-acre tract of land for $20,000 in 1978. Monies came from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Fund. Playground equipment was installed in 1980 and $8,000 was allocated from the CDBG Fund for the construction of a picnic pavilion in 1981.
Located just off the west border of the park is the Bear Creek Community Center owned by Columbia Housing Authority.
