Two types of parks will be undeveloped – those awaiting development that is scheduled in the future and those set aside for green space or bufferland, with no plans for future development.

Battle Avenue Park Property

Battle Ave.

This 30-acre undeveloped park is adjacent to Battle High School. The first phase of the park development is funded by the 2015 Park Sales Tax and is scheduled for 2021, pending City Council approval. Public input will be sought for the design of the park.

2100 Newton Dr.

Boxer Park is undeveloped and serves as green space and bufferland for Bear Creek. The 3-acre parcel was donated Mr. Stanley Boxer and was named in memory of his deceased son, William I. Boxer.
Gates Park Property

Gates Park Property

This 65.8-acre property is currently undeveloped park land. It was acquired in 2016 with funds from the 2010 Park Sales Tax. The property includes one parcel (60.81 acres) which was purchased from Michael Tompkins for $360,000 and another parcel (5 acres) donated by Mr. Tompkins. The two parcels acquired will provide future access for the Little Bonne Femme Trail as shown in the 2013 Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan. Development is unfunded at this time and could possibly be a proposed project in the next Park Sales Tax ballot.

Kid Park is undeveloped and serves as green space for the residential neighborhood off Garnet Avenue in north-central Columbia.
Magnolia Falls Park

Magnolia Falls Park

4820 S. Old Mill Creek Rd.

Magnolia Falls Park was donated by Beacon Street Properties, LLC and was acquired by the Parks and Recreation Department in 2014. It's development was included in the 2015 Park Sales Tax Implementation Plan and is scheduled in Fiscal Year 2019. The park development planning will go through the public input and City Council process.

1710 S. El Dorado Drive

This park land was acquired in 2016 with funds from the Park Sales Tax, filling a need identified in the 2013 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan. Funding for Phase I development of the park is scheduled in Fiscal Year 2021 and is funded by the 2015 Park Sales Tax.
