Albert-Oakland Park is a 79-acre community park that features Columbia's largest municipal pool, two 18-hole disc golf courses, six dedicated pickleball courts, basketball and tennis courts, lighted baseball/softball fields, reservable picnic shelters, playgrounds, and much more! It is a trailhead for the 4.8 mile Bear Creek Trail.
Douglass Park is a community park located in central Columbia. It is home to Douglass Family Aquatic Center, two full basketball courts, playground, outdoor amphitheater, restrooms, baseball/softball field, picnic shelters, and a skate spot. The part of park where the basketball courts and baseball field are located is on property owned by Columbia Public Schools. Flat Branch Park is located in downtown Columbia. The park runs along Flat Branch Creek and extends across two city blocks. The park includes a gazebo, picnic areas, spraygrounds, playground, art sculpture, demonstration rain garden, historical plaques, and is a trailhead for the MKT Trail. You can travel the MKT Trail all the way from Flat Branch Park to the statewide Katy Trail without having to cross a street. There is a bridge access to the Convention and Visitors Bureau located on the other side of the creek from the park.
Columbia Parks and Recreation has co-operative use of Hickman High School tennis courts, children's playground, and Hickman Municipal Pool. The tennis courts and playground are open to the public after school hours and when they are not in school use. The indoor pool is open to the public only during Parks and Recreation scheduled programs.
Lake of the Woods Recreation Area has an 18-hole golf course, clubhouse with concessions, driving range, fishing lake, and outdoor swimming pool. It's a great place for family recreation. The golf course has three sets of tees, sand traps, mature trees, large zoysia fairways, bentgrass greens, lakes, golf cart paths, and tee to green watering systems. The course is open year round, weather permitting. Lake of the Woods Pool features a double water slide, bathhouse, shade umbrellas, and lounge chairs.
Stephens Lake Park is the crown jewel of Columbia's park system and is known for its 11-acre fishing/swimming lake, mature trees, and historical significance in the community. It serves as the center for outdoor winter sports, a variety of community festivals, and outdoor concert series at the amphitheater. It has reservable shelters, playgrounds, swimming beach and spraygrounds, art sculpture, waterfalls, and walking trails. This popular park houses numerous tree collections, including red bud, oak, conifer and nut trees, along with the Hindman Memorial Garden, Children's Grove, and demonstration rain gardens, which have earned it a Level II Arboretum Accreditation.
Twin Lakes Recreation Area is a 73 acre community park in south Columbia. Amenities include a fishing lake, a water play area for kids - Little Mates Cove, a dog park, picnic areas, and access to the County House and MKT Trails.
