Birthday packages

Come have your birthday at an outdoor pool. The ARC also offers several party packages to fit your needs in our pool party rooms. You can rent a party room and bring in your own supplies, or purchase a party package and our staff will do the work. Two hour room rental only: $37-$50. There are also party rentals available at the Lake of the Woods Pool.

Hold your next event at one of our many indoor facilities listed below.

This indoor sports facility is used for many activities, such as basketball, volleyball, meetings, aerobics, events, and after school programs. The Community Recreation and C.A.R.E (Career Awareness Related Experience) programs along with the CoMo Bike Co-op are located at the Armory. When programs aren't in session the gym and other rooms are available for public rental.
Armory Sports and Recreation Center
This facility located at 4227 Philips Farm Road at A.Perry Philips Park, Columbia Sports Fieldhouse is Columbia's new, premier indoor sports facility. This multi-use indoor sports complex features four hardwood courts designed for basketball, pickleball, volleyball and archery. Multi-purpose rooms, a control desk, concession area, ample spectator seating and restrooms provide the necessary space for managing leagues and tournaments. Future phases may include an additional 4-8 courts, depending of funding. The Fieldhouse is situated on the eastern side of the park, with easy access and visibility from Highway 63.
Columbia Sports Fieldhouse
The former main MDC office (Missouri Department of Conservation) has been moved to this building with additional space. Included are four full-time staff, preschool programs, life enrichment classes, 50+ programs, tours, and programming. Hillcrest Community Center is located at Waters-Moss Memorial Wildlife Area and within close proximity to the 'Moss Building' which hosts various recreational programs and classes.

Maplewood Barn can be located in Nifong Park and may be rented during the theater off-season for meetings, birthday parties, special occasions, weddings, receptions, and more. The inside of the barn has one large room and can accommodate groups of 80 or less. Tables and chairs available for use. The facility is handicap accessible. Maplewood Barn
Built in 1877 and now known as a historical museum, the Maplewood Home and Grounds can be found at Nifong Park. Among the facility amenities are an animal barn, carriage house, pump house, and servants' quarters. If you would like to hold a special event on the Maplewood Home grounds, a Park Special Use Permit is needed. MKT Trailside Building (the upstairs portion) is a reservable facility that can be made either online or at the Parks and Recreation department on 1 S 7th Street. This building, next to Battle Garden, provides a convenient, air-conditioned place for the bridal party to get ready for the ceremony.
MKT Trailside Building
The Moss Building is a former Missouri Department of Conservation garage and mechanic shop converted into a 4,000 square foot activity center by Columbia Parks and Recreation. The building is primarily used for recreation programs and classes. However, when not in use for scheduled programs, the Moss Building is available for private parties, events, weddings, and meetings, with a maximum of 100 people. This building includes two open space rooms (Room A - 1,435 square foot and Room B - 1,067 square foot), lobby, tables and chairs, restrooms and a kitchen area.
Moss Building
The Northeast Event Center is an 88,000-square foot facility located at the Northeast Regional Park (formerly known as the Boone County Fairgounds and Central Missouri Event Center). The Center is available for rental from April through September.
Northeast Event Center
This beautiful indoor pavilion constructed out of red cedar timbers at Stephens Lake Park off of East Walnut sits on a hilltop overlooking the park and lake. This attractive one-story building is available for public rental and will host up to a maximum of 150 people. The pavilion has a 2,000+-square-foot main room with a vaulted ceiling, a warming kitchen, tables and chairs, and two outdoor grills. It offers a scenic view through the large wall of windows, making it a great wedding venue or an ideal location for reunions, receptions, company meetings, and private parties. Weekend reservations are allowed up to 2 years in advance of the event; weekday reservations allowed up to one year in advance.
Riechmann Indoor Pavilion
Rock Quarry House is located on Grindstone Parkway and can be reserved at the Parks & Rec Department (1 South 7th Street) or can be checked for online availability on the facility web-page. This ranch home in a park setting may be rented for meetings, birthday parties, special occasions, weddings, receptions, and more. Some features include three large rooms with wood floors, one with tile, a kitchen that includes a stove/oven, and an indoor restroom.
Rock Quarry House
This reservable facility can be found within the bounds of Waters-Moss Memorial Wildlife Area and is managed by Hillcrest Community Center (except for taking reservations). The premises is mainly used for private parties, events, weddings, and meetings, with a maximum of 50 people. The rental area includes two rooms, foyer, two restrooms, and an outdoor patio.

Outdoor amphitheaters and pavilions

Host an outdoor event at one of our outdoor amphitheaters.

A large, linear pavilion on the northwest side of Clary-Shy Park. The pavilion was designed to accommodate the vendors and customers of the Columbia Farmers Market, as well as serve as a rental facility for the community when it is not used by the Columbia Farmers Market or Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture. Phase I of the pavilion construction is completed and accommodates 38 covered vendor spaces, parking for each vendor, and a 30-foot-wide shopping aisle for market customers along with restrooms and drinking fountains. Additional vendors conduct business from tents set up on either side of the pavilion. Vinyl curtains are used to create a heated indoor space for winter market use.

Riechmann Indoor Pavilion
This outdoor theater sits in the northwest corner of the park with a beautiful lake setting behind the stage. The amphitheater has a 60' x 60' concrete stage with partition walls, an orchestra pit, and a concrete open air sound and light control stage with electric panel and conduit. Users must provide their own stage lighting and sound system. The audience sits on the bowl-shaped grassy hillside and can bring their own blanket or lawn chair. The amphitheater is available for rental by the public. It serves as an outdoor venue for concerts, theater shows, and festivals, as well as for private functions, such as weddings.
Stephens Lake Amphitheater Stage
This outdoor amphitheater was created for small concerts or speaking engagements. It is located on the east side of Douglass Park off the N. 5th Street parking area. It has a concrete stage and low back stone wall with electrical. The audience can sit on the grass, bring lawn chairs, or sit on the boulders placed in the lawn in front of the stage. It can be reserved by submitting a Park Special Use Application.

Outdoor shelters

Reserve a park shelter for your next family reunion or special event. Several of the park shelters are reservable. The fee is $45-$70, depending on the shelter size.

This reservable shelter is located in the southeast portion of Albert-Oakland Park off of Edris Drive and has an adjoining restroom. The shelter can host up to 80 people. Albert-Oakland Park is home to two 18-hole disc golf courses, baseball/softball fields, Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center, playgrounds, and more! Albert-Oakland Park Shelter 1
This reservable shelter is stationed in the northeast portion of Albert-Oakland Park on Blue Ridge Road neighboring a restroom, playground, and right across from Shelter 3. It can hold up to 100 people with approximately 9 picnic tables. Oakland Middle School is adjacent to the park. Albert-Oakland Shelter 2
This shelter is reservable with a group size limit of 100, 9 picnic tables, and a seating capacity of 72. It is bordered by a parking lot, practice field, and playground. Albert-Oakland has several amenities, such as a large outdoor pool; pickleball, tennis, and basketball courts, baseball/softball fields, disc golf courses, and is a trailhead for Bear Creak Trail. Albert-Oakland Shelter 3
Antimi shelter is a reservable picnic area located in the north portion of Cosmo Park. It is situated next to 1 grass volleyball court, a skate park/roller hockey rink, and a 6 field sports complex. Antimi Park Shelter
Located in Bonnie View Nature Sanctuary, this shelter is reservable within 92.5 acres of available land. Seating capacities range from 72 with approximately 9 picnic tables are based in the pavilion. Recommended group limit is 100, twenty-nine parking spaces, including buses. Shelter features include a double barbecue grill, electric service, drinking fountain, and a nearby restroom. Bonnie View Nature Area is a trailhead for the Scotts Branch Trail with scenic views of beautiful wildflowers in the prairie restoration area. Bonnie View Park Shelter
With 3,645 covered square feet, this reservable shelter is located in Cosmo Park. It is available half-day to full-day while accommodating 20 picnic tables, seating 160, and carrying a size limit of 200. Among the conveniences are eight 110 volt double outlets, a triple bay ADA barbeque grill, and over 62 parking spaces. Neighboring the premises are the following: Cosmo Fitness Trail, Steinberg playground, outdoor volleyball stations and restrooms.
Burford Shelter
Collins is a reservable shelter located near the upper parking lot of Stephens Lake Park (rental includes firepit). Recommended group size is 40, due to limited parking. Groups with more than 40 are required to rent one or both of the other shelters, depending on size of group. Some features include 1 ADA single BBQ grill, 4 picnic tables (1 ADA) and a playground near the site (within walking distance) at Gordon Shelter. Collins Shelter
Cosmo Park Dexheimer shelter is a reservable facility next to an outdoor volleyball field and horseshoe pits that are across the parking lot (Garrison Shelter right alongside it). Being Columbia's largest park, it is host to the Show-Me State Games as well as many other events! (For more information on reservable park shelters see 'Shelters' under Parks,Trails, & Facilities). This reservable shelter is located near the volleyball court and towards the border of Fairview Elementary School. Park amenities included are: garden plots, playgrounds, 4 tennis courts along with one junior and regular soccer field. Fairview Shelter
The shelter shown is located in Cosmo-Bethel Park and can be reserved. Some features include 1 ADA double covered BBQ grill, ADA drinking fountain with jug filler (1), electric, six 110 volt double outlets, lights, one 220 volt outlet and 8 picnic tables. Group size limit can exceed no more than 100 people. Ficklin Shelter
This reservable shelter is located in Cosmo Park with a size limit of 40. It is located right next to the tennis courts and horseshoe pits. Cosmo park is also home to several amenities such as a remote control car track, roller hockey rink, sports fields, & more! Garrison Shelter
Gehrke is a reservable shelter located in Nifong Park and can be accessed from Ponderosa Street. Inside the shelter are 8 picnic tables (1 ADA), BBQ grill, electric conveniences such as outlets, a drinking fountain, and a seating capacity of 64. The Maplewood Home, Walters-Boone County Historical Museum can also be found at this park. Gehrke Shelter
Gordon is a reservable shelter located in Stephens Lake Park that can be accessed via East Broadway near 3 playgrounds. Included with the rental are as listed: concrete patio, ADA double BBQ grill, ADA drinking fountain with jug filler (next to restrooms), electric conveniences (combo lock), picnic tables (9, 1 ADA), and a playground with climbing boulder/swing set next to shelter. Reservations can be made for half or full day. Gordon Shelter
Happy Hollow is a reservable shelter that can be located at Stephens Lake Park near 3 playgrounds in a somewhat more secluded area. With the rental are 1 ADA double BBQ grill, an ADA drinking fountain with jug filler, electric (combo lock) & outlets, picnic tables (8, 1 ADA). Group size can exceed no more than 80 people. Happy Hollow Shelter
Harris shelter, located in Cosmo park is a reservable facility located right on Business Loop 70 West. Amenities include one BBQ grill, a drinking fountain, 7 outlets, with 80+ parking areas. You can rent the shelter from 8am-2:30pm or 5-11pm. Harris Shelter
This non-reservable shelter is located within Indian Hills Park at 784 square feet. It can be accessed through the West entrance on 5009 Aztec Boulevard and East entrance, 5390 Sandrock Drive. Some establishments that surround the vicinity are a basketball court, playground, and outdoor volleyball court.
Indian Hills Shelter
Jay Dix Station can be found right off South Scott Boulevard. Some park features include fitness stations, 3 other shelters, practice fields, a basketball court, playground, and mountain bike skill course. The facility amenities contain 1 ADA single BBQ grill and 4 picnic tables. More information is available on the facility webpage. Leech Shelter
This shelter is located at Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial at Battle Garden and can be put on hold for reservation. Some conveniences include 1 ADA double BBQ grill, a drinking fountain at MKT Trail access, approximately 80 parking spaces (6 ADA) and 4 picnic tables. Other park features include fitness stations and an MKT trailhead. MLK Shelter
Nickell Shelter is reservable and is located in Columbia's largest municipal park, Cosmo Park. A restroom is close by and the shelter is in the same corner of the park as Steinberg Playground, the largest playground in Columbia’s park system. Nickell Shelter
Kiwanis Park C.K. Odor Shelter is a reservable site that can host up to 60 people. Conveniences available are two double bbq grills, four outlets, lights, 22 parking spaces, 13 picnic tables added with a seating capacity of 104. Some park accommodations incorporated are a basketball court, playgrounds, fire ring (all at Russell Boulevard Elementary School), nature area, restrooms, and a trail. Odor Shelter
Thomas H Rapp Shelter serves the 8-court tennis court complex in Cosmo Park and can only be reserved with a tennis court rental. It can hold up to 20 people, complete with 2 picnic tables. Other facilities available are several trails, sports complexes, play fields, and many more shelters! Rapp Shelter
Within 1,196 square feet, this reservable park shelter has 2 barbecue grills and a limited group size of 100. It can be located at Rock Quarry Park next to a sand volleyball court and playground. Some other park amenities include a basketball court, tennis/pickleball courts, and a gravel trail. Rock Quarry Shelter
This reservable park shelter can be found in Shepard Boulevard Park within close proximity of the restroom, playground, and sand volleyball court. Included are also an accompanying practice field. The shelter has a seating capacity can of 80 people. Shepard Boulevard Shelter
This shelter can be found in Norma Sutherland Smith Park and can be put on hold for reservations. Some features include a pond, parking lot, and restroom with a drinking fountain. There are approximately 18 picnic tables with a group limit of 200. Smith Shelter
This large shelter can be reserved and is located in Kiwanis Park, which neighbors Russell Boulevard Elementary School. Within 20 acres of wooded land, there are nature trails to explore the park. Restrooms can be found on the west side of the park. Thurston Shelter at Kiwanis Park
This shelter is the largest reservable outdoor shelter in the park system, with a group size limit of 200. It is next to the playground and near the restrooms. Twin Lakes Recreation Area is located off Chapel Hill Road and can also be accessed via County House Trail. Among park features are leash-free areas for dogs and fishing lake. The lake perimeter trail connects to the MKT Trail. Twin Lakes Shelter
Located in Waters-Moss Memorial Wildlife Area, this shelter is available for reservation and can hold a group size of 80 and seat 72. There is a playground, restroom, and parking lot that serves the shelter. The park is home to the Hillcrest Cummunity Center, the Moss Building (reservable), and Waters House (reservable). The park is open for deer and turkey archery hunting under MDC hunting regulations. Grindstone Creek Trail travels through the south end of the park. Waters-Moss Shelter

Battle Gardens

Hold a beautiful outdoor wedding at Battle Garden. Permission granted via a Park Special Use Permit and modest fee (starting at $40). The upper floor of the MKT Trailside Building is available to rent for the bridal party.

Golf courses

Columbia Parks & Recreation offers many convenient opportunities to reserve blocks of starting times for hosting your golf outing, along with tournament management services at Lake of the Woods Golf Course or L.A.Nickell Golf Course.

Sports facilities

Columbia has baseball, softball, football, lacrosse, and soccer fields available to rent for games, leagues, or tournaments.  Sports facility reservation  information.

Albert Oakland park fields can be found close to a volleyball and basketball court. These 2 baseball/softball fields are lighted and alongside a multi-use trail. Reservation info can be accessed through one of the links (Sports Facility Reservations) located on the facility's web-page. Other park amenities featured are a family aquatic center, tennis courts, and soccer practice fields.
Albert-Oakland Baseball Fields
American Legion Park fields can be found close to a concession building/restroom. The gold field (east) can be used as a baseball or softball field while the blue (west) is solely for baseball, with higher dimensions. Reservation info can be accessed through one of the links (Sports Facility Reservations) located on the facility's web-page. Other park amenities featured are batting cages, a playground, reservable shelter, archery practice area, and pond.
American Legion Ballfields at night
Antimi Sports Complex is an 8-field combination baseball/softball and tee-ball center located in Cosmo Park. Features incorporated are covered bleachers, dugouts, electronic scoreboards, and foul ball protective netting. There is also a park shelter nearby and during non-scheduled hours, the fields can be reserved for private rental.

Atkins Park Ballfields

These football/lacrosse fields are located in Cosmo Park with a total of 6 football fields (two irrigated). Reservations can be made for officiated games only. Football Field
Gans Athletic Fields is located at Gans Creek Recreation Area with five multipurpose, irrigated fields reservable for games. These are premiere fields that can be rented for game purposes only such as soccer, football, lacrosse, ultimate Frisbee, or other sports (practices are not allowed). Rainbow Softball Center is an outdoor softball facility that offers players, spectators, and enthusiasts professional quality fields. Some features include 6 lighted fields and 300-foot fences (approved by Amateur Softball Association). Rainbow Softball Center
There are two rugby fields with goal posts at the MKT Trail - Scott Blvd. Access. This is the home field for the Columbia Rugby Football Club. Other sports teams may reserve the fields for the practice of their sport. This location has ample parking, restrooms, access to the MKT Trail, picnic table, water fountain, bike rack, and bike repair station.

Aquatic facilities

Enjoy a pool side private party, family reunion, or office party in a pleasant environment. Aquatic facilities may be reserved for a two-hour time period when the facilities are not in use.  

  • Two hour minimum.
  • Lifeguards are provided.
  • Portable music players allowed.
  • Food and drink (no alcohol) allowed. (Concessions not open for private rentals.)
  • All regular facility rules are in effect.
  • Children and youth groups must have one adult to every ten children.
  • Everyone attending is counted, even if they do not swim.
  • Reservations need to be made a minimum of two weeks in advance.
  • Payment due at time of reservation.
  • Rental fees are non-refundable. A reservation can be transferred to another date of up to 14 days prior to the scheduled reservation.
This is Columbia's largest outdoor municipal pool. It has a spacious 50-meter pool with two diving boards and a triple-loop enclosed flume slide. There is a separate water play area for kids; a bathhouse with mens, womens, and family changing rooms; concession area, and a large deck with lounge chairs and shade umbrellas.

The Water Zone is the ARC's indoor heated leisure pool with zero depth entry, interactive water play structure, triple-loop water slide, lazy river, vortex, three 25-yard lap lanes, a heated hydro-therapy pool, concession area, and party rooms for rent.

This central-city outdoor pool features a double loop slide, climbing wall, and spraygrounds. It has a shaded shelter inside the fencing, lounge chairs, bathhouse, and concessions. Douglass Family Aquatic Center has the lowest admission fee of all the municipal pools, providing a great family value.

Hickman Pool is an indoor heated pool located on the campus of Hickman High School. Due to a co-operative agreement between the City of Columbia and Columbia Public Schools, Columbia Parks and Recreation has joint-use of the pool at scheduled times when not in school use. Hickman Pool is used for Parks and Recreation swim lessons, water aerobic classes, lifeguard training, recreation swim teams, and special aquatic programs.

This outdoor municipal pool on the east side of Columbia is surrounded by the beautiful Lake of the Woods Golf Course. The pool features slides, lounge chairs, umbrella shade, and concessions at the clubhouse.

Garden plots

This community park is adjacent to Fairview Elementary School off of Fairview Road. It shares a parking lot with the school on the north side of the park. The park includes four tennis courts, a reservable shelter, restroom, garden plots (available for rent), playground, and soccer practice fields. The east side of the park is heavily wooded, with more open space on the west side. The park has a connection to the Scott's Branch Trail.

Meeting rooms

We have several options and pricing for meeting rooms, starting at $20/hour, with a two-hour minimum. Meeting room space is available at the following facilities:

This indoor sports facility is used for many activities, such as basketball, volleyball, meetings, aerobics, events, and after school programs. The Community Recreation and C.A.R.E (Career Awareness Related Experience) programs along with the CoMo Bike Co-op are located at the Armory. When programs aren't in session the gym and other rooms are available for public rental.

Maplewood Barn can be located in Nifong Park and may be rented during the theater off-season for meetings, birthday parties, special occasions, weddings, receptions, and more. The inside of the barn has one large room and can accommodate groups of 80 or less. Tables and chairs available for use. The facility is handicap accessible. The Moss Building is a former Missouri Department of Conservation garage and mechanic shop converted into a 4,000 square foot activity center by Columbia Parks and Recreation. The building is primarily used for recreation programs and classes. However, when not in use for scheduled programs, the Moss Building is available for private parties, events, weddings, and meetings, with a maximum of 100 people. This building includes two open space rooms (Room A - 1,435 square foot and Room B - 1,067 square foot), lobby, tables and chairs, restrooms and a kitchen area.

The Northeast Event Center is an 88,000-square foot facility located at the Northeast Regional Park (formerly known as the Boone County Fairgounds and Central Missouri Event Center). The Center is available for rental from April through September.

This beautiful indoor pavilion constructed out of red cedar timbers at Stephens Lake Park off of East Walnut sits on a hilltop overlooking the park and lake. This attractive one-story building is available for public rental and will host up to a maximum of 150 people. The pavilion has a 2,000+-square-foot main room with a vaulted ceiling, a warming kitchen, tables and chairs, and two outdoor grills. It offers a scenic view through the large wall of windows, making it a great wedding venue or an ideal location for reunions, receptions, company meetings, and private parties. Weekend reservations are allowed up to 2 years in advance of the event; weekday reservations allowed up to one year in advance.
Riechmann Indoor Pavilion
Rock Quarry House is located on Grindstone Parkway and can be reserved at the Parks & Rec Department (1 South 7th Street) or can be checked for online availability on the facility web-page. This ranch home in a park setting may be rented for meetings, birthday parties, special occasions, weddings, receptions, and more. Some features include three large rooms with wood floors, one with tile, a kitchen that includes a stove/oven, and an indoor restroom.
Rock Quarry House
This reservable facility can be found within the bounds of Waters-Moss Memorial Wildlife Area and is managed by Hillcrest Community Center (except for taking reservations). The premises is mainly used for private parties, events, weddings, and meetings, with a maximum of 50 people. The rental area includes two rooms, foyer, two restrooms, and an outdoor patio.
