Project description
A committee was formed in 2017 to research and implement the proposed African-American Heritage Trail which is funded by private donations. The planned trail will consist of 23 markers highlighting more than 30 locations with information on the history of each location.

Interested parties meeting and online survey
An interested parties meeting was held on February 6, 2019 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at the Blind Boone Home, 10 N. 4th Street, Columbia, MO, 65201. An online survey was available from February 7, 2019 through February 18, 2019. No public comments related to the project were received.
Project status
Twenty markers have been installed, with three more pending fabrication and/or installation.
