The IT Department does not take direct sales calls. Vendors should register to receive City of Columbia bid notifications.
For the fourth year in a row, the City of Columbia has made the Center for Digital Government’s top 10 list. The Center for Digital Government’s annual Digital Cities Survey recognizes cities using technology to improve citizen services, enhance transparency, increase security and encourage citizen engagement. The City of Columbia placed 10th in the 75,000-124,999 population category.
In 2014 the City of Columbia was named the eCity of Missouri by Google. Google partnered with research firm Ipsos to identify the strongest online communities in each state – cities who are embracing the power of the internet to find new customers, connect with existing clients, and fuel their local economies.

cITySOFT: A software sharing project:
|Homes For Computers: |
The IT Department donates surplus computers to Homes for Computers. In the past 12 years, the Homes for Computers program has handed out 420 computers to families in need.
|EnCircle Technologies: |
The IT Department supports EnCircle Technologies, a local non-profit agency providing IT training to adults with autism. The department donates used computers and provides training to students on the proper techniques for cleaning computers, replacing hardware and installing software.
