In Case of an Emergency, Dial 911

n the event you need the service of fire, police or rescue, dial 911. An emergency dispatcher will answer the phone and will ask you questions about the emergency.

They are:

  • Address of the emergency
  • Your name
  • Telephone number you are calling from

A brief description of the emergency, if known.

For Example:

“My kitchen is on fire,”
or
“There is an accident at the intersection of Providence and Ash,”
or
“I think I am having a heart attack.”

In the event of a medical emergency, the communications operator will be dispatching appropriate fire and emergency medical personnel, and at the same time will be asking you a series of questions as well as providing instructions to assist in treatment of the patient(s) and provide additional important information for the first responders. While it may seem some of the questions are time consuming, be assured that while those questions are being asked – help is on the way.
