About the art
Standing six feet tall on top of nearly eight-foot pedestals, the bronze figures are shown in stride, as if enjoying a walk or run on the nearby trail. The artist knows the subject matter well, given that he was a two-time Olympic medalist in racewalking. Landmark Bank donated the sculptures to the city as part of a successful public partnership to complete Phase II of the park’s construction.
