About the artist

Scott Myers is a native Missourian from Schulyer County. Myers studied fine art at the University of Missouri-Columbia, graduating in 1989, and holds a masters in art history and historic preservation from MU. He also studied photography at the Appalachian Environmental Art Center in Highlands, North Carolina. Myers’ work documenting historic buildings has taken him all over Missouri and to other states such as Georgia, North Dakota, Illinois and Alaska. In addition to his work with architectural and engineering firms, Myers has been on staff at Missouri’s State Historic Preservation Office and is a photographer for Missouri’s Department of Natural Resources.

His photography can also be seen in a 2006 book, titled South Dakota’s Historic Places: Picturing the Past.
