The Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art features a collection of work by many noted Midwestern artists. Special exhibits are organized each year. The gallery is located in the newly renovated Classic Hall on the campus of Central Methodist University in Fayette.

Capital Arts Gallery hosts seven exhibitions annually. Since January 2009, the gallery has exhibited hundreds of artists and displayed more than 2,000 pieces of art. Every year Capital Arts Gallery also participates in a city-wide gallery crawl. This event is free and open to the public. Visitors are encouraged to tour galleries, meet the artists and enjoy an evening of art.

The Mildred M. Cox Gallery is a teaching-oriented facility enabling student, faculty and visiting artists to share ideas and promote artistic dialogue. For those wanting to see and learn more about art, the gallery provides quality experiences for the mid-Missouri community and University visitors. The gallery’s mission is to provide a professional environment for established and emerging artists who wish to exhibit their work. Throughout the year, Cox Gallery offers children’s art education programs and is available for small receptions.

The Morris Gallery of Contemporary Art on the campus of Missouri Valley College exhibits current works of art and design for the educational enhancement of students, faculty and the general public. The goal of the gallery is to expose mid-Missourians to high-quality artwork from national artists in a variety of media. The gallery typically features five shows each year: two each semester and one during the summer.

Located in historic Rocheport close to the Katy Trail State Park, Shirahaze Gallery showcases handmade, one-of-a-kind ceramic work by award winning artist Yukari Kashihara. Photographer Thomas Scharenborg also offers images of local scenery, landscapes from across the nation and photographs from Japan. Shirahaze Gallery creates original products including handmade jewelry, small purses and iPhone covers.
