SPECIAL
CITY COUNCIL MEETING - COLUMBIA, MISSOURI
NOVEMBER 5, 1998

INTRODUCTORY
    The City Council of the City of Columbia, Missouri met for a special session at 6:10 p.m., on Thursday, November 5, 1998, in the Council Chamber of the City of Columbia, Missouri.  The roll was taken with the following results: Council Members KRUSE, COFFMAN, HINDMAN, COBLE, JANKU, CROCKETT, and CAMPBELL were present.  The City Manager, City Counselor, and City Clerk were also present.
    Mayor Hindman explained that the purpose of this meeting is to declare the election results of November 3, 1998.

NEW BUSINESS
R223-98     Declaring the results of the election held on November 3, 1998.
    The resolution was read by the Clerk.
    Mr. Beck stated he was disappointed that the issue failed.  He said the biggest disappointment related to comments he received that indicated voters did not understand the issue.  Mr. Beck reported there was an excellent committee who worked on promoting the issue, and a great deal of written information had been distributed.
    Mr. Campbell commented that the committee had worked very hard, and he conveyed the Council's thanks for their efforts.
    The vote on R223-98 was recorded as follows: VOTING YES: KRUSE, COFFMAN, HINDMAN, COBLE, JANKU, CROCKETT, CAMPBELL.  VOTING NO: NO ONE.  Resolution declared adopted, reading as follows:

    There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
