Road crews are reporting that the roads are in very good shape; mostly wet with some slushy residue in the curb and gutters. All 1st and 2nd priority roads have been treated and crews made good progress into residential areas too.
Our plan is to keep a 7 person crew on duty throughout the night. We will evaluate road conditions late tonight to determine if resources will be needed on Tuesday.
Our forecasters are still advising that we should expect snow to continue through late afternoon and then expect some light drizzle and freezing drizzle early this evening with falling temperatures causing wet or slushy surfaces to freeze.
While treating the roads and the temperature helped to keep roads in good condition throughout the day, motorist are still urged to use caution on roads this evening. If you are travelling tonight, please buckle-up and slow down.
Pedestrians should also use caution on sidewalks and other walking surfaces, some of which may not have been treated. Property owners are encouraged to treat or shovel sidewalks as snow and ice accumulate on them.
