Multiple bus route detours during Homecoming

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Rollins St. between Hitt St. and Missouri Ave. will be closed to all traffic Friday, Oct. 26, for an outdoor concert that is part of the University of Missouri- Columbia's Homecoming festivities. Multiple buses will run detoured routes to avoid the Rollins closure. The affected bus routes are the 107 FastCAT Express, Tiger Line Shuttles- all day and evening routes except for 403 day route, 207 and 208 Gold, and 209 Black routes.

Maps detailing all detoured routes can be found under Rider Alerts at www.GoColumbiaMO.com/PublicWorks/Transportation/.

The bus stop on Rollins in front of the MU Student Center which normally serves as a stop for all 11 of the routes on detour  will not be operational during this time. Passengers can catch their desired bus at the following areas during the detour.

In front of the Carnahan Plaza Fountain:

- 107 FastCAT Express to downtown, Stephens College

- 401 Tiger Line day route to Hearnes parking lot

- 406 Tiger Line night route to south loop

- 207 Gold to Campus View apartments

- 208 Gold to Gateway apartments

At the intersection on Hitt and Rollins:

- 404 Tiger Line night route to downtown

- 405 Tiger Line night route to Trowbridge parking and East Campus

Virginia Ave. in front of the MU Black Culture Center:

- 402 Tiger Line day route to Trowbridge parking

- 207 Gold to The Point

- 208 Gold to Grindstone Canyon

- 209 Black to the Cottages

Passengers are asked to be aware of the increased traffic and re-routes as they plan their transportation during the Homecoming festivities.

The 107 FastCAT will detour Saturday from 10:00am until two hours after the football game due to traffic congestion near the stadium. Passengers can catch the FastCAT in front of the Student Center on Rollins.

The 107 FastCAT will offer free rides during Homecoming weekend starting Friday, through Sunday. Anyone who wishes to ride the FastCAT express around downtown, Stephens College and MU campuses can do so at no cost. FastCAT service runs until 2:30am Friday and Saturday.

Due to the Homecoming parade scheduled for Saturday morning, the Farmers' Market Shuttle will delay the start of service until 8:30am.

If passengers have questions or need help making transportation plans due to detours and delays, they can call the Columbia Transit customer service line at (573) 874-7282.
