Public invited to complete Community Development Needs Survey

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Each year the City of Columbia receives federal funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) due to its population, demographics and federal appropriations. The City estimates it will receive approximately $1 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and $600,000 in HOME funds in FY 2024. These funds primarily benefit low- to moderate-income households and can be used for affordable housing, economic development, neighborhood revitalization and stabilization and community facilities.

Columbia residents are invited to complete the following survey to help identify affordable housing and community development needs within the community.

The survey can be accessed at BeHeard.CoMo.gov/needs-survey.

This survey is designed to collect public opinion regarding the City's use of funding among program areas identified in its 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan. Survey responses help inform decisions on how the City will utilize CDBG and HOME funds.
