Community Information: Columbia Police arrest suspect in connection to a fatal injury, Oct. 10

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

At approximately 3:40 p.m. on October 10, patrol officers with the Columbia Police Department were dispatched to the 1700 block of High Quest Drive in reference to a report of a missing person at risk. At the scene, officers located the body of a female victim concealed in a closet. There was evidence that the victim was restrained and had suffered severe blunt force trauma to the head.

Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, we are unable to make a positive ID at this time. We know who lives in the residence and believe we have a good idea of who the victim is. But until we can obtain more definitive information we are not able to release a name. For now, the female victim will be referred to as Jane Doe.

Thanks to the tireless work of our officers, detectives and crime scene investigators, we were able to quickly identify a suspect in this case. Adam A. Conner, 37, of Columbia, was arrested without incident for second-degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with physical evidence.

We want to thank members of the community for coming forward with information on this case, as well as for their patience as we continue working to identify Jane Doe. Our detectives will continue to work with the medical examiner's office and the prosecutor's office to complete the investigation. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter for any updates.
