Columbia Police investigate homicide in the 800 block of Grand Avenue, May 8

(COLUMBIA, MO) - On May 8 at approximately 12:30 a.m. Columbia Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 800 block of Grand Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with injuries caused by gunfire. The victim was identified as Demetrius Ware, 37, of Columbia. Ware was pronounced deceased after being transported to a local hospital by EMS. Next of kin has been notified.

A warrant has been issued for Isaac Bryant, 35, of Columbia, for murder second and armed criminal action for his involvement in this homicide.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. More information may become available at a later time.
