Interested parties meeting for the North Stadium Boulevard sidewalk project scheduled for Jan. 5

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The City of Columbia Public Works department has scheduled an informal open house meeting concerning the North Stadium Boulevard sidewalk project. This meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in conference room 1A of City Hall at 701 E. Broadway. The purpose of this meeting is to present design concepts for the project, which includes the following improvements:

- Construction of a sidewalk to fill in sidewalk gaps along the west side of North Stadium Boulevard (Route E) between the existing crosswalk at the Interstate 70 overpass and the existing sidewalk at the Break Time gas station.
- Construction of a pedestrian crosswalk across North Stadium Boulevard north of Aaron Drive with a sidewalk connecting to the Cosmo Fitness Trail.
- Construction of a pedestrian crosswalk across Business Loop 70 West at Cosmo Park with a sidewalk along the south side of Business Loop 70 West connecting to the crosswalk at the North Stadium Boulevard overpass of Interstate 70.
- Construction of a sidewalk to fill in the sidewalk gap at the northwest corner of the Rose Drive and the North Stadium Boulevard intersection.
- Construction of a sidewalk to fill in the sidewalk gap at the southwest corner of the Aaron Drive and the North Stadium Boulevard intersection.

This project is currently scheduled to begin during the fall of 2022. At the meeting, information and diagrams showing the design concepts will be available for public review and City engineering staff will be present to answer questions.
