Columbia Police conduct homicide investigation at a residence in the 4800 block of Marble Cedars Drive, Oct. 13

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Police officers responded to a request for a well-being check at a residence in the 4800 block of Marble Cedars Drive on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Officers arrived and located a male inside the residence who had sustained a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel arrived and determined the person was deceased. During the initial death investigation, officers determined there were factors present that suggested a suspicious death. The victim was identified as James R. Hundle, 52, of Columbia, MO. Next of kin has been notified. 

There is no suspect information available at this time. 

This is an ongoing investigation. More information may become available at a later time.
