Columbia Police investigate a reported attempted carjacking in the 4700 block of Clark Ln., May 10

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Police responded to a reported attempted carjacking on Monday, May 10, at approximately 8:40 p.m. in the 4700 block of Clark Ln.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with an adult male victim. The victim reported he was inside his vehicle when a subject approached the vehicle and tapped on the window with what appeared to be a handgun. 

The victim reported the subject demanded the vehicle. The victim reported that he was able to drive away from the area before calling 911.

The victim described the suspect as a tall, thin Black male with facial hair but was unable to provide any further description. 

Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate any person matching the description.

There were no injuries reported.

This is an ongoing investigation. More information may become available at a later time.
