UPDATE- Columbia Police identify and arrest suspect in relation to attempted robbery, April 29

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Police arrested James Edward Hanks, Jr., 37, of Salem, MO on May 6 for the charges of  first degree robbery after he entered the Walmart Supercenter, 415 Conley Road, and threatened an employee while demanding money on April 29. 

The Columbia Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit located Hanks on May 4 and arrested him on an unrelated warrant. The Department’s Criminal investigations Division was able to identify Hanks as the suspect in the attempted robbery.  

This is an ongoing investigation. More information may become available at a later time.
