(COLUMBIA, MO) - In honor of COMO 200 and Arbor Day, the City of Columbia Tree Board will be joining Parks and Recreation in the planting of a ceremonial tree. City Forester Dave Dittmer will also present a proclamation, on behalf of Mayor Brian Treece, declaring April as Arbor Month. This event will take place on National Arbor Day, Friday, April 30, at 2:00 pm at Nifong Park, 2900 E. Nifong Blvd. The City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department will be planting 200 trees throughout City parks in honor of the Columbia Missouri Bicentennial this year. These 200 trees will also aid in replacing ash trees being lost due to the Emerald Ash Borer.
