(COLUMBIA, MO) - As part of the 25th annual Cleanup Columbia, community volunteers along with City staff will pick up litter along U.S. Highway 63 and Interstate 70 on Sunday, April 25 from 6:30 - 8:30 a.m.
The group will be focusing on the area south of I-70 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 63.
Cleanup Columbia is a city-wide effort to pick up litter along streets, streams, trails and in parks. Historically, Cleanup Columbia has been held on the second Saturday of April. Due to COVID-19, the 2021 Cleanup Columbia event has been dispersed with volunteers working throughout the month on dates and times that best suit their schedule.
There are currently 47 people registered to help with the cleanup.
City of Columbia Solid Waste Utility is supporting the event and will have a refuse truck on-site to remove the litter picked up by volunteers.
