Beginning Monday, April 19, ELI Directional Drilling, contractor for Bluebird Network, will be installing fiber optic cable to serve future AT&T small cell wireless facilities for 5G cell service. The work requires sidewalk closures on the north side of East Broadway between Hitt Street and College Avenue, and the west side of Hitt Street between East Broadway and Cherry Street. Sidewalk closures will be done in 300' sections with a detoured route for pedestrians. The work will be complete by Friday, April 30 at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Motorists, and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone. Pedestrians should follow the traffic control devices to the other side of the street.
