Columbia police arrested Alruekia R. Brown-Wells, 30, of Jefferson City, for her involvement in a disturbance and residential fire that took place in the 1000 block of Claudell Ln. Brown-Wells was arrested for the charges of first degree arson, endangering the welfare of a child and fourth degree assault.
At approximately 3:20 a.m., Columbia Police responded to a report of a disturbance at Columbia Square Apartments, located in the 1000 block of Claudell Ln.
Upon arrival, officers were able to locate the suspect on scene and, through further investigation, discovered that she had also been involved in purposefully setting a fire outside of a specific residence.
Columbia Fire Department was on scene and extinguished the fire.
Brown-Wells was remanded to the custody of the Boone County Jail.
