Columbia Police arrest suspect involved in arson and domestic assault that occurred in the 3200 block of Timber Run Dr., March 24

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

At approximately 2:50 a.m. Columbia Police responded to a report  of a structure fire and an assault that occurred in the 3200 block of Timber Run Dr. 

Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who reported she had been assaulted by an adult female suspect. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries. 

The investigation revealed that a fire had been set inside the residence. Firefighters were called to the scene to assist.

Through further investigation, the suspect was identified as Myrna Asberry, 55, of Columbia, who was remanded to the Boone County Jail for the charges of first degree arson, first degree domestic assault and first degree burglary.

This is an ongoing investigation and is being handled by the Department’s Criminal Investigation Division. More information may become available at a later time.
