Columbia Police detain two subjects involved in a vehicle collision that occurred in the 2700 block of Forum Blvd., Feb. 23

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Police have detained two subjects involved in a vehicle collision that occurred today in the 2700 block of Forum Blvd.  The suspect vehicle was linked to two separate incidents that occurred during the day.

At approximately 8:54 a.m. on Feb. 23, Columbia Police responded to a report of a domestic assault that occurred in the parking lot of  the Columbia Mall, 2300 Bernadette Dr. Upon arrival, officers canvassed the area and were not able to locate the vehicle.

Through reports of witness accounts, officers learned that the suspect vehicle was a navy blue four-door Cadillac sedan with an adult male and female occupants.

At approximately 1:46 p.m., officers were dispatched to a trespassing at Break Time, 4105 W. Vawter School Rd.  While en route, officers learned that the reported trespassers matched the description of the subjects from the earlier domestic disturbance.

Officers located the suspect vehicle near the 500 block of East Nifong and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled. Due to unsafe surroundings, officers did not initiate a pursuit at that time.

Officers located the suspect vehicle traveling north on Forum Boulevard and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle fled again, and officers pursued. Shortly after the suspect vehicle fled, it crashed under the bridge on Forum Boulevard near Wilson’s Fitness Center and subsequently went into a nearby creek.

At this time, both subjects have been transported to a local emergency room for further evaluation. One subject is known to have an outstanding warrant. No additional charges have been made at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation. More information may become available later.
