City of Columbia plow crews reported at 7 a.m., replacing the day shift, to continue responding to winter weather. Crews will continue to focus on priority routes and will transition to neighborhood routes this morning. Snow pack is likely to slush up throughout the day due to temperatures expected to be mid 20s. Progress on neighborhood routes may be viewed on our website at CoMo.gov/comosnow/road-conditions/. Parking restrictions are lifted on designated priority snow routes.
Although a street may still be snow packed, a street is considered passable once an inspector determines that at least one travel lane is accessible for a front wheel drive vehicle at driving speeds well below the normal posted speed limits. Examples of passable roads may be found on our website at CoMo.gov/comosnow/home/examples-of-passable-roads/.
Residents are reminded to remove snow from sidewalks adjacent to the property they own or rent. Sidewalks are used by residents to get to school, work and shopping. The City appreciates the effort to keep our sidewalks accessible.
Public Works and City staff will continue to closely monitor road conditions and adjust operational plans as needed. As winter weather can be unpredictable, residents are encouraged to closely monitor the forecast and changing road conditions throughout the mid-Missouri area. Motorists are advised to drive with caution.
Additional updates will be available via press release, on the City’s social media pages and at CoMoSnow.com.
