The City of Columbia Public Works department is requesting public feedback regarding the Smith Drive/Louisville Drive traffic calming project. As part of the City’s public involvement process for capital projects, and due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, Public Works is holding an online interested parties (IP) meeting from Monday, Jan. 18 through Friday, Jan. 29 at CoMo.gov/publicworks/smith-drive-louisville-drive-traffic-calming.
The project is intended to use traffic calming devices to lower operating speeds on Smith Drive from Scott Boulevard to Louisville Drive and on Louisville Drive from Smith Drive to Chapel Hill Road. Smith Drive is No. 1 on the 2019 Neighborhood Traffic Management Program Priority List. Louisville Drive is No. 5 on the 2019 Neighborhood Traffic Management Program Priority List.
Investment for this project is estimated at $100,000 paid for by the annual traffic calming funds.
The online comment period will run from Jan. 18 to Jan. 29. During this time, citizens may review preliminary plans, contact Public Works staff with questions and comments and complete the IP Comment Form.
Public Works staff may be contacted via the City’s number at 573.874.2489 or via email at [email protected]. The completed IP comment form may be submitted via email or mailed to the City of Columbia Public Works Department, 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, Missouri 65205. Please include "Smith/Louisville Traffic Calming" in the subject line.
