Columbia Police officers responded to the 2400 block of West Broadway to a report of shots fired on Thursday, Jan. 14 at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Officers arrived and located a male victim, 25, who had sustained injuries from gunshot wounds. The victim was alert and walking when officers located him. Officers immediately began rendering first aid to the victim until the scene was secure and EMS was able to take over patient care. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ambulance to be treated for his injuries.
There were no other injuries reported. Officers did not locate any property damage caused by gunfire.
