Columbia Police investigate shots fired in the area of Old Hwy 63 and Broadway, Jan. 4

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

The Columbia Police Department responded to a report of shots fired Monday, Jan. 4 at approximately 10:10 p.m., in the area of Old Hwy 63 and Broadway.

Officers arrived and located one victim, a 19-year-old male, who had been shot multiple times. Officers immediately began rendering first aid to the victim until the scene was secure and EMS was able to take over patient care. The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital for advanced medical care. 

While canvassing the area, officers located damage caused by gunshots to buildings as well as to parked vehicles. There were no further injuries reported. 

There is no suspect information to provide at this time. This is an ongoing investigation by the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID). More information may become available at a later time.
