Beginning Monday, Dec. 28, ELI Directional Drilling, contractor for Bluebird Network will be installing fiber optic cable to serve Central Bank of Boone County at 720 East Broadway. The work requires sidewalk closures on the east side of South Seventh Street between Cherry Street and Locust Street, the south side of Cherry Street between South Seventh Street and South Eighth Street, and the west side of South Eighth Street between Cherry Street and East Broadway.
It will also require closure of the alley south of East Broadway and between South Seventh and South Eighth streets. Not all closures will take place at the same time, and there will be a detoured route for pedestrians at all times. The work will be completed by Friday, Jan. 8 at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Motorists, and nonmotorized transportation users are urged to exercise extreme caution when in the work zone. Pedestrians should follow the traffic control devices to the other side of the street.
