Capital Paving, subcontractor for Emery Sapp and Sons, Inc. contractor for the Nifong Boulevard Corridor project, will be performing mill and overlay operations on Nifong Boulevard and Forum Boulevard beginning Friday, Nov. 13. Operations will occur on Nifong Boulevard west of Bethel Street to Sinclair Street and on Forum Boulevard from Green Meadows Road to Southampton Drive. Crews will work in the areas from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.. Work is expected to last one week, weather permitting. Lane striping will follow.
Minor delays are possible. Motorists, nonmotorized transportation users and pedestrians should exercise caution in these areas while crews are working. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the workzone.
This work is part of the Nifong Boulevard Corridor; Forum Boulevard Improvement project which will add two additional through lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks and intersection improvements along Nifong Boulevard between Providence Road and Willowcreek Lane, and along Forum Boulevard between Nifong Boulevard and Green Meadows Road. The project also includes a new traffic signal at the new intersection of Nifong Boulevard and Aurora Drive.
