Columbia Police investigate shots fired in the area of West Worley Street and Pershing Road on Oct. 14

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Police officers responded to the area of West Worley Street and Pershing Road at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14 for a report of shots fired. 

Upon arrival, officers began canvassing the area and found evidence of shots fired that spanned from the intersection of West Worley Street and Pershing Road to the intersection of Again Street and Pershing Road. The evidence consisted of several shell casings. 

Officers were able to view a resident’s home surveillance footage that showed a white Jeep SUV and a small, dark-colored passenger car following the Jeep while traveling east on West Worley Street and turning south on Pershing Road. 

Officers were able to locate the Jeep at Lake Broadway Townhomes, 1103 W. Broadway. The vehicle had damage caused by gunshots, and it was learned that the Jeep was reported stolen on Oct. 10 from the 800 block of East Green Meadows Road (2020-009802).

There were no injuries reported during this incident. 

There is no further description of the dark-colored passenger vehicle, or of any subjects that were involved, to share. This is an ongoing investigation. There are no further details to provide at this time.
