Public input meeting set for Sept. 16 for Vineyards park property development

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Parks and Recreation is holding a public input meeting regarding the development of the Vineyards park property in east Columbia. The drop-in meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the park property located on Dumas Drive, between Stone Mountain Parkway and Spring Mountain Drive.

The 43-acre park was acquired in 2016 with funds from the Park Sales Tax, filling a need for a neighborhood park in this area of Columbia, as identified in the 2013 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan. The final plan for the park could include a trail around the 11.6-acre lake, parking lot and neighborhood access.

Park staff will be available to discuss plans and take public comments. Social distancing measures and the City’s mask ordinance will be enforced during the meeting.

An online survey is available for those who are unable to attend the meeting; the survey is located at this link https://www.como.gov/CMS/WebForms/form.php?formid=389

The development of the Vineyards park property will be funded by the 2015 voter-approved Park Sales Tax.
