At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sept.11, Columbia Police responded to a report of a verbal disturbance with a weapon in the 700 block of Wilkes Blvd.
Upon arrival, officers located a female victim, 40, who suffered injuries to her head and minor cuts on her arms and legs. Officers stayed with the victim until EMS arrived at the scene to assist. The victim was transported to a local hospital to treat non-life threatening injuries.
With the help of witnesses, officers were able to locate two suspects near the Welcome Inn Motel, located at 1612 Providence Rd.
The suspects were identified as a Misty Guzman-Castro, 39, and Demeco Williams, 50, both of Columbia. Both suspects have been arrested for second degree assault and armed criminal action.
