CoMoHelps announces grant to assist Columbia Public School qualifying families with school supply kits

(COLUMBIA, MO) - CoMoHelps is pleased to announce a $50,000 grant to Columbia Public Schools to procure over 1,800 school supply kits for elementary students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. These kits contain the standard supplies needed for both in-person and online learning. Families who are in need of assistance with school supplies should contact the Columbia Public school their child attends.

"Columbia Public Schools is incredibly grateful for the support of our community partners in helping the district provide necessary elementary school supply kits to our families in need, Columbia Public Schools Community Relations Director Michelle Baumstark said. "We’re all navigating a difficult period of time and knowing that our community will pull together to ensure our students have the support they need is tremendous."

Since March, the CoMoHelps partners have provided $1.3 million in funding to local nonprofits and schools for COVID-19 relief. Because community needs continue to exceed available resources, CoMoHelps is still seeking donations.
