(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 1109 Pannell Street at 9:06am on Monday, September 7th.
The first unit arrived less than five minutes later and reported smoke showing, possibly coming from the basement. Crews pulled pre-connected hose lines to the basement through access on the exterior of the home. Further investigation revealed the fire was in an exterior wall. The fire was quickly extinguished and a thorough search of the building was conducted.
Fire investigators determined the fire originated in the rear, exterior part of the home. Damage is estimated at $1,000. The cause remains under investigation. There were no reported injuries.
