Public input meeting set for Aug. 26 for Fairview Park and Bonnie View Nature Sanctuary improvements

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Parks and Recreation is holding a public input meeting regarding the second phase of development at Bonnie View Nature Sanctuary, 3300 Rollins Road, and improvements at Fairview Park, 1001 Fairview Road. The drop-in meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bonnie View shelter.

The Bonnie View project consists of a new nature-themed playground, parking lot improvements including asphalt repair and LED lighting conversion, new pedestrian bridge and lowland water improvements on the trail. The Fairview project includes replacing pedestrian bridges and the outdoor classroom, adding tree identification labels along the natural surface trail system and making garden plot improvements.

Park staff will be available to discuss plans and take public comments. Social distancing measures and the City’s mask ordinance will be enforced during the meeting.

For those not able to attend the meeting, an online survey is available: https://www.como.gov/CMS/WebForms/form.php?formid=386

Both projects will be funded by the 2015 voter-approved Park Sales Tax.
