City Council to hold FY 2021 budget work session Aug. 13

(COLUMBIA, MO) - Columbia City Council will hold a work session on the fiscal year 2021 budget beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13 in Council Chambers at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. The budget message and recommendations were first presented by City Manager John Glascock on July 24. Staff will provide a deeper look into the proposed budget and answer questions from Council at Thursday’s work session.

Residents may view the Council work session by watching the live broadcast at http://gocolumbiamo.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?publish_id=ed43fd49-37c7-49e5-aa8d-24e8482a1ef3 which will begin 5 minutes prior to 9 a.m. and live broadcast on Spectrum 992, Mediacom 80 and CenturyLink 96.

The public and media are invited to attend, however seating is limited due to COVID-19. Social distancing measures will be in place. Masks are required.

Community members will have the opportunity to make public comment at three upcoming City Council meetings before the budget is adopted:

Monday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. (Public hearing)
Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. (Public hearing - meeting on Tuesday due to the Labor Day holiday)
Monday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. (Public hearing and adoption)
