City offices closed Friday, July 3 in observance of Independence Day

(COLUMBIA, MO) - City of Columbia offices will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.

Although offices will be closed on Friday, residential curbside trash will be collected on the observed holiday Friday, July 3. Due to staffing issues, no residential curbside recycling will be collected during the week of June 29. The landfill will be open to the public Friday, July 3. On Saturday, July, 4, the landfill will be closed and the regular Household Hazardous Waste collection event will be canceled in observance of Independence Day. Residents can download the COMO Recycle and Trash app for collection day reminders and service notifications. Questions concerning the collection schedule should be directed to the Contact Center at 573.874.CITY (2489). 

Go COMO, Columbia's public transit system, will operate on the observed holiday, Friday, July 3, but will not operate on Saturday, July 4. Metered street parking and parking garage regulations will not be enforced on July 3 or July 4.  

The City's Activity & Recreation Center (ARC) will be open for normal hours on July 3 and at reduced hours on July 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Recreational swim will be open from noon to 2:30 p.m.

The City's outdoor aquatic facilities, Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center and Douglass Family Aquatic Center, will be open on July 4 with the normal two-hour sessions, from noon to 2 p.m. and from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Although administrative offices for both the Police and Fire departments will be closed, all other emergency services will be available.
