UPDATE: Columbia Police arrest one suspect in relation to shots fired in the 400 block of Providence Road, June 19

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia police have arrested Gerrod Taylor, 19, of Columbia in relation to the shooting that took place in the 400 block of Providence Road at Douglass Park on June 19. Taylor was arrested at approximately 8:55 pm yesterday evening in the 3500 block of Zinnia Drive. He was taken into custody for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Assault in the First Degree and Armed Criminal Action. 

As a result of the incident, a 33 year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers on scene rendered immediate medical aid to the victim until medics arrived and transported him to a local hospital to treat his injuries.
