Parks and Recreation to open Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center June 12

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia Parks and Recreation will reopen Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center on Friday, June 12. Albert-Oakland, located at 1900 Blue Ridge Road, is the only outdoor City pool scheduled to open at this time.

Staff at the pool will be enforcing social distancing guidelines and capacity requirements as outlined by Health Order 2020-06. Albert-Oakland will be open Tuesdays through Sundays for two sessions: the first session will be 12-2 p.m. and the second session will be 2:30-4:30 p.m. The pool will close for 30 minutes between sessions to allow staff to sanitize and clean surfaces. All patrons will be asked to leave the facility at the end of their session to allow others the opportunity to swim. The pool will remain closed on Mondays for deep cleaning.

Visitors will be asked to pay an entry fee per session. Pool fees have been reduced to reflect the new schedule. Admission for kids ages 2-15 is $2.50, for adults (age 16 and older), admission is $3.50. Pass books will also be available for purchase in advance at the Activity & Recreation Center (ARC), 1701 W. Ash. Books are sold in increments of 10 or 20 visits and will be available starting Monday, June 8.

All amenities at the pool will be open, however, pool and deck furniture will be removed. Pool visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center is available for private rentals in the evenings, more information about rentals is available at https://www.como.gov/parksandrec/aquatic-private-rentals/.
