UPDATE: Juvenile suspects detained in relation to commercial structure fire at Dollar General on May 11

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

Columbia police detained two juvenile suspects, both 16 years old, who are being held on the charge of Arson in the 1st Degree in connection to the May 11 structure fire at Dollar General, 3700 Flanders Court, at approximately 11:30 a.m. 

The business was open and occupied at the time of the fire, however, no injuries were reported. 

The Columbia fire department fire marshal partnered with CPD detectives during the investigation. Fire investigators estimated the loss for the fire at approximately $350,000 in contents and approximately $250,000 for the structure. 

The two suspects were released to the juvenile authorities. 

This is an ongoing investigation. There are no further details to provide at this time.
