At approximately 12:24 a.m. on May 20, Columbia police responded to a report of a home invasion in the 4300 block of Derby Ridge Drive. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the residents, who reported hearing a loud bang and forced entry into the apartment.
The residents also reported an exchange of gunfire between them and the intruder.
During the investigation, officers did not locate any evidence suggesting the intruders were injured. Residents reported no injuries and no evidence of missing property.
Officers did find evidence that was consistent with forced entry into the apartment of the residents. The suspects have not been identified and there is no description to provide at this time.
